City continuing to hold water distribution events while under boil water alert

Jackson residents are heading into the third week of a citywide boil water notice for surface water connections. The city has been holding daily water distribution events during the boil water alert. For the near future, residents can pick up one case of water per vehicle at 2 pm daily at Jackson Fire Station No. 1 at 555 S. West St. It’s the second time this summer the city issued a citywide advisory due to cloudiness and a lack of water pressure. Two pumps at the OB Curtis Water Treatment Plant need to be repaired and two consecutive days of clear water samples need to be completed before the boil water notice can be lifted.
